Childbirth has always been a part of my life.

I was born and raised on The Farm–an intentional community in Tennessee and home to Ina May Gaskin and The Farm Midwifery Center, known for popularizing midwifery as a recognized practice. Growing up in a culture of compassion for emerging mothers and their babies instilled in me a lifelong appreciation for the work that mothers and those who support them do.

Since leaving The Farm, I’ve worked in childcare and early education for over 15 years, gave birth to my own child, and have become a caretaker of all the babies and pregnant people in my orbit. Nurturing and empathy have always come second nature to me, so it felt natural to continue the work I already do and pursue becoming a doula.

My goal in working with pregnant people is to care for them through a pregnancy and birth that  feels comfortable, informed, empowered, and satisfactory to them personally. I believe this can look many different ways and is unique to each person. The changes through pregnancy and the transitions of childbirth are extraordinary, miraculous, and full of the unknown. Emotional and physical support during this time is essential. I feel it is an incredible honor to be able to offer that support to families.

I am a trained and certified doula of Bini Birth, a leading childbirth education center in Los Angeles. I am currently completing my DONA certification.
